Very Rev. Robert Henry (Hank) Lanik, Jr. Pastor, School Administrator
Fr. Hank Lanik was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Tyler in May of 2011. He has worked in several parishes in the diocese, and most recently served as Rector of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. During the past 7 years Fr. Hank has also served the diocese as the Chancellor, member of the Diocesan Finance Council, Diocesan Presbyteral Board, and Diocesan Personnel Board. Prior to entering the seminary, he spent 17 years as the Camp Director at The Pines Catholic Camp. Currently Fr. Hank is Pastor of St. Patrick and St. Andrew Catholic Churches, and serves as Dean of the Southeast Deanery.
Pre-K3, Judy McKinney
Judy has taught at St. Patrick for the past 21 years and has been teaching for 24 years, all of which she has taught 3-year-olds.
She attended college at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Rochester, NY and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, major: Interior Design, minor: Sociology; Child Development Associates, fulfilling 12 hours Early Childhood Development. She is currently participating in the Children’s Learning Institute Texas School Ready! Project, which is an early education approach that serves preschool-aged children through shared resources between public and private early childhood education programs.
Judy lives in Lufkin with her husband Truitt McKinney and has one son, Corey McKinney, 21. She loves Italian food, gardening, reading, jewelry-making and animals.
In 1998, when she first came to St. Patrick, she started the first 3K program, After Care and Summer Programs the school has had ever since.
Margarita Valdez is our Pre-K4 teacher and has been at St. Patrick since 2015.
Kindergarten, Lourdes McKay
“Ms. Lou” is in her 9th year at St. Patrick. She has over 21 years’ experience as a Catholic educator, most of which was in her native Puerto Rico. Along with teaching Kindergarten, Ms. Lou serves as Aftercare Coordinator and is our artist-in-residence! She believes in individualized education and any student at this school is automatically one of “her kids.”
1st Grade, Jasmine Flores
Ms. Jasmine is in her 4th year at St. Patrick and came to us with several years in public school early childhood education. Jasmine graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with her degree in Education. She has enjoyed the move to working with slightly older students and focuses on hands-on learning and integrating technology into her curriculum.
2nd Grade, Pat Powell
Pat Powell graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a BA in English and a minor in music with an education certification. She has completed some additional graduate work at Stephen F. Austin State University and Sam Houston University. Her specialties are math and reading.
She has 45 years of teaching experience in El Paso, San Antonio and Lufkin. She taught for 18 years at Hudson ISD and 19 years at Leggett ISD. She retired from public school teaching in May 2012. In January 2013 she joined the Foster Grandparent program which provides volunteers in schools including St. Patrick. She volunteered at St. Patrick from January to May 2013. During the June and July of 2013, she taught a 6 week course at the school for 2nd to 4th graders. She accepted the 3rd grade teaching position in August 2013 for St. Patrick and has served on our faculty ever since.
She is an advocate for teachers and students and has been very active in both the local and state levels of the education system.
Pat has been very active in St. Patrick Catholic Church. She has been a choir director for over 35 years.
3rd Grade, Vivian Plemons
Vivian Plemons' love for children led her to become a teacher. She has been a teacher for 15 years and with St. Patrick for 14 years.
She is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin with a Bachelors in EC-4. She has her Early Childhood Associate Degree from Angelina College. She is participating in the Children’s Learning Institute Texas School Ready Project.
She lives in Huntington. She has five children: Stephen Hudson 22, Joshua Foyil 18, Lexie Foyil 16, Thomas Foyil 13 and Olivia Foyil 11.
She is one of 12 children.
She enjoys it when she can see the “Light Come On” for a student who is finally getting it. That is a great feeling!
4th/5th Grade, Jamie Sanchez
Mrs. Jamie Sanchez is in her 4th year as a full-time teacher at St. Patrick but has been at St. Patrick for over 7 years in various capacities. She is a “Boy Mom” with four grown sons. In her previous life, she spent over 20 years working in Early Education. The move to upper elementary has allowed her to stretch teaching skills.
6th-8th Grade, Lauren Brazil
Mrs. Lauren Brazil is in her 4th year at St. Patrick. She graduated from SFA with a degree in Health Science and after a brief time out of the workforce to raise her daughters, she joined St. Patrick as our Middle School teacher and Athletics Coordinator.

Religion PreK3 - Kindergarden, Maria Ibañez
Maria Ibañez is in her 3rd year of teaching Religion at St. Patrick. Maria attended Angelina College. She had the privilege of strengthening her faith and knowledge by joining her husband on his journey to become a Deacon in the Catholic Church. The formation was for five years, in which it strengthened her desire to search for a place where she could share her love for the Catholic faith. Maria never imagined that God's plan was for her to join St. Patrick as a religion teacher to fulfill that calling she had desired. Maria's favorite Scripture passage is Matthew 19:14 "Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God of heaven belongs to such as these.'" Both Maria and her husband, Dcn. Mario have dedicated the last seven years serving at their church, Our Lady of Guadalupe in Nacogdoches, Texas.

School Secretary, Annabel Ivon
Annabell Ivon has served as the School Secretary at St. Patrick Catholic School for 3 years. She has the distinction of having attended St. Patrick’s school as a child. Now her 3 daughters attend our school. Annabell and her husband Victor are big supporters of St. Patrick School through various kinds of work projects and volunteer opportunities
